About Sonia Garrido, O.D.

Dr. Sonia Garrido was born in Laredo, Texas, and raised in Houston, Texas. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Optometry from the University of Houston and received her doctorate degree from the University of Houston, College of Optometry in 1997. She completed clinical rotations in ophthalmology, contact lenses, and low vision at Lackland Air Force Base in Bexar County, Texas, and the Eye Institute of San Antonio in San Antonio, Texas.

Dr. Garrido joined Houston Eye Associates in 2020 with over 23 years of optometric experience and after 18 years of owning and operating her own private optometric practice. Dr. Garrido is licensed by the Texas Board of Optometry as a therapeutic optometrist and optometric glaucoma specialist and is a proud member of the Texas Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. Her focus is primary care optometry with an emphasis on family eye care including refractive care and contact lens fittings. Dr. Garrido is bilingual in English and Spanish and is currently accepting new patients at our North Loop and Spring Branch Memorial locations.

Dr. Garrido thoroughly enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and participating in church and school functions.
