About Kristin Minkowski, M.D.

Dr. Kristin Minkowski is a board-certified ophthalmologist and a fellowship-trained glaucoma specialist and cataract surgeon. She was born and raised in Racine, Wisconsin, and attended Carthage College, in Kenosha, Wisconsin where she graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry. Dr. Minkowski earned her Master of Science degrees from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in Chicago, Illinois in Biomedical Science and Health Administration. She then went on to receive her Medical Doctorate at Chicago Medical School, graduating first in her class of 198 students.

After medical school, Dr. Minkowski completed a one-year internship at the University of Chicago before moving to Houston, Texas, to attend an ophthalmology residency at the Cullen Eye Institute at Baylor College of Medicine. Following residency, Dr. Minkowski fulfilled a glaucoma fellowship at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami in Miami, Florida, the top ophthalmology program in the United States.

Dr. Minkowski has received numerous awards and honors, including induction into Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and Upsilon Phi Delta Honor Society. She is a member of the American Glaucoma Society, the American Society for Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Minkowski specializes in the medical and surgical treatment of glaucoma, cataracts, and comprehensive ophthalmology. She strongly believes in personalized medicine and works to tailor treatment plans to her patient’s individual needs. In addition to treating and controlling glaucoma with medication, Dr. Minkowski offers laser surgical options, minimally invasive glaucoma surgeries, trabeculectomy, and tube drainage device implants.

In her spare time, Dr. Minkowski enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, hiking, and playing tennis, which she played collegiately.
